The incision-free treatment Thermage, employs radiofrequency technology to uniformly heat a large volume of collagen in the deeper layers of the skin and its underlying tissue whilst simultaneously protecting the outer layer of skin with cooling. Tony Barrett, hospital director at the Claremont comments: "We are delighted to be the first independent hospital in South Yorkshire to offer this ground-breaking cosmetic procedure. We strive to offer our patients the very best in health care, whether they are admitted for cosmetic or medical reasons, and to be only one of 12 clinics across the country to offer such a procedure truly is a testament to the high quality, state of the art facilities we have on offer." Collagen is the building block that provides structure to skin and the deep heating action of the treatment causes these deep structures in the skin to instantly tighten and over time, new and remodelled collagen is produced to further tighten skin, resulting in healthier, smoother skin and a more youthful appearance. Immediately after a single treatment, which can take anything from thirty minutes to two hours depending of the size of the treatment area, patients' skin should feel tighter, smoother and more youthful. Measurable tightening improvements will continue to appear gradually over two to six months. There is no downtime associated with the procedure and patients can return to normal active life straight away after treatment. Thermage treatments are carried out by Mr David Dujon, Consultant Plastic Surgeon, who practices privately at the Claremont . As well as Thermage, the Claremont provides a wide range of cosmetic surgical procedures such as breast augmentation and reduction, liposuction, tummy tucks, facelifts and rhinoplasty. All procedures at the hospital are carried out by experienced NHS consultants. |
