HPV or Cervical Cancer Vaccine This is now availible for Young Women and Girls from 13 years to 25 years. The vaccine which provides protection against the Human Papilloma Virus which is implicated as the main causative factor in cervical cancer. Cervical Cancer is a type of cancer which effects the neck of the womb. The vaccine is administered in 3 doses over a 6 month period and is most effective before the onset of sexual activity. The vaccine is currently available free via the NHS in school for 12-13 year old girls.
