Do I need medical insurance to access Claremont Hospital 's facilities? No. We offer special prices for patients funding their own treatment. More details on self-payment. Return to list of FAQsHas the Claremont Hospital had any known cases of MRSA? No. There have been no known cases of MRSA at the Claremont Hospital . We routinely screen patients for MRSA prior to admission and follow strict hygiene procedures. The use of single or low occupancy rooms also minimises any risks. Return to list of FAQsI have been asked whether I would like to be treated at the Claremont Hospital under the NHS. How does this work? In order to cut waiting times, there are various government initiatives in place (such as 'Patient Choice') that mean that NHS patients can receive their treatment in private hospitals. The majority of private hospitals in the UK are treating NHS patients in this way. More details on NHS funding. Return to list of FAQsDoes the standard of care provided to private and NHS patients differ? No. The care provided by Claremont Hospital is of the same high standard, regardless of who is paying for the treatment. There may, however, be differences in the non-clinical facilities provided. For example, private patients will always be guaranteed a single room, whereas NHS patients may share a multi-bedded, single sex bedroom. Return to list of FAQsAre there any types of surgery that the Claremont Hospital does not perform? We do not currently perform heart surgery or provide cancer treatment. Return to list of FAQsCan Claremont Hospital 's services be accessed by children? Inpatients must be aged 16 or over. However, children from the age of three can be seen in outpatients, as long as no invasive procedures take place (such as blood tests, etc). Physiotherapy is available to children from the age of eight years. Return to list of FAQsWhat should I bring with me when being admitted? We would recommend that all patients bring night clothes, dressing gown and slippers. We do provide soap and shampoo but suggest you bring with you any other toiletries you may require during your stay. Please do not bring any valuables with you. Return to list of FAQsWhat is the hospital's smoking policy? The hospital operates a no smoking policy. Return to list of FAQsWe operate an open visiting policy, but prefer visitors to refrain from visiting between 12 noon and 2.00pm each day as we encourage patients to benefit from a restful, peaceful period after lunch to aid their recuperation. Telephone enquiries are welcome at any time. Return to list of FAQs |
